You are responsible for the systems you manage and the changes you authorize. Test changes, maintain verified backups, and review commands and recommendations before applying them. Software tools can make mistakes, and automated actions can disrupt your environment.

Software provided without warranty

TopoTrace, its documentation, reports, recommendations, and integrations are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TopoTrace LLC and the software’s authors and contributors disclaim express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. We do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free results, compatibility with every environment, or protection from every security threat.

Your operational responsibilities

Use TopoTrace only on systems and networks you are authorized to administer or assess. You are responsible for access controls, credentials, configuration, backups, recovery plans, testing, maintenance windows, and compliance with applicable requirements. Review the scope and likely effects of scans, scripts, service restarts, remediation, and other changes before enabling them. Automated approval or scheduling does not remove that responsibility.

Limitations of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TopoTrace LLC and the software’s authors and contributors are not liable for claims, losses, or damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on TopoTrace, its outputs, or associated services. This includes data loss or corruption, downtime, configuration errors, security incidents, lost revenue or profits, business interruption, and costs of restoring systems, whether the claim concerns contract, negligence, or another legal theory.

Results require independent verification

Inventory may be incomplete or outdated. Risk scores, compliance checks, vulnerability matches, and AI-generated answers are decision-support information, not guarantees, certifications, or professional advice. Verify findings against current evidence and qualified guidance. A successful command or a healthy agent does not prove that a system is secure or that a change achieved its intended result.

Third parties and sample data

External integrations, feeds, models, and services have their own terms and limitations. Clearly labeled demo data is fictional and must not be used to assess real systems. Pages outside the isolated Visibility demo may operate on live data; some simulator features can send real notifications.

Applicable law and software license

These limitations apply only where legally permitted. Nothing here excludes rights, warranties, or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded, or overrides a separate binding agreement. The software’s Apache License, Version 2.0 and third-party licenses continue to govern their respective code; this notice does not revoke their permissions.
